超域文化科学特殊研究IV

担当教官:アンドリュー フィーンバーグ
講義題目:Philosophy of Technology

This is a course on trends in the history of philosophy of technology. Heidegger is the most important Western philosopher to place technology at the center of his theory. Marcuse presents a radical version of the Heideggerian theory, influenced by Marxism. Although Foucault is not usually considered a philosopher of technology, his theory of power incorporates artifacts and practices into social theory in a way that contributes to the understanding of technical politics. I have made use of all of these sources in my book Questioning Technology, which offers an example of contemporary philosophy of technology.

Here are the main readings.
